Dealing with Anonymous Households

Get set up to get rid of all anonymous households.

  • Except the Household with a contact named Anonymous Anonymous.
  • In the waffle, find Apsona. (If you don't see Apsona, ask me to enable your profile for Apsona.)
  • Click on Apsona.

In Apsona, click on the Accounts Tab

  • Select Tabular View
  • Field Set: Anonymous.v3
  • Filter: Donations w Anonymous HH

Here's the filter

To get started, click on the little square with the arrow beside the SECOND record in the list.

  • The first record is the bucket Anonymous Anonymous record for people who want their donations to remain anonymous. Skip that one.

Note the number of donations attributed to this household.

  • The name of the Primary Contact will be on the page.
  • The account name for the donation will be Anonymous Household.
  • The game is to find the household for this individual, and put it on the donation record.
  • This will take the donation away from the Anonymous Household and put it in the proper Household for the Primary Contact.

Hover over the Primary Contact to see the Account Name associated with the contact.

Remember the Household Name so you can add it to the donation.

You may need to change the Record Owner

I think I've fixed the owners, but the owner should be an active user. Ann Marie Sanders is our go-to owner.

In the donation record, search for the correct household.

Add the Household Name

Bring up the Donations with Anonymous Households in Apsona

  • Field set: Anonymous.v3
  • Filter: Donations w Anonymous HH
  • Click on the small box just left of the first entry. This will bring up the donation.

Delete the Anonymous Households when there are no contacts and no donations.

Once you have everybody in the proper households, delete all the Anonymous Households in the system...except that one Anonymous Anonymous Household.
