Mobile App Install Android
The Grassroots Mobile Survey App will install on an iPhone, but because many of the world's Field Workers use Android phones, our instructions point to installing to an Android phone. If you're an iPhone user, check out the article on installing the GRMS on that phone.
Here are the screens you'll become familiar with on the Grassroots Mobile Survey App.
- Your Login Screen
- This is the screen that collects the contacts that belong to you as well as the survey settings.
- This is the screen that shows the numbers of synced and unsynced surveys on your phone.
Find the link and download the app to your phone
Follow the link below and go to the Releases Page on Github on your phone: https://github.com/SFDO-Community-Sprints/GrassRootsMobileSurveyApp/releases
Click on the file ending with (.apk) and it will start downloading on your phone.
Your browser may differ in appearance, but these instructions work on browsers other than Brave. Once you click on the file name, you may be prompted with a message that the file may be harmful.
You would want to click on Download anyway.
Once you click on Download anyway, the app should start downloading.
Once the download is complete, you install the app.
On installation you may be prompted with the following message.
Just click on Settings.
Next turn on the Allow from this source.
Next Click on the install button.
Once the installation is done. Either Click on Done or Open.
The App will be listed on your list of apps.
On opening the app you will see the Login Screen.
To setup the app click on the small gear icon on the top right of the screen.
Here put in the App Name that you chose from Heroku and click save.
Now you are ready to go.
If you're handing out install instructions individually to your field workers, be sure to add this app name from Heroku to the instructions. The app won't work without it.
Go to "Set up for Survey Success!" to enter all the folks who will be using the app, as well as the clients that you know are part of your users' caseloads.
