Creating Fields & Importing with Apsona
Setup
Object Manager
Type name of object you will be working on
Click name of object
Fields and Relationships
New
Choose the data type of the field you are creating
Next
On Lookup, Choose object you want to look up
Putting the field on all page layouts
(We may want to take this off later...
Save...or Save and New
Go to Page Layouts in left column
Check the placement of the new field
Quick Save if you want to check other page layouts as well. Save will take you out of this view.

Copy/Paste your spreadsheet values
This page, for importing new records, should have these fields configured like this.
The Match Fields options can be changed if you have another way of finding unique records. Since we knew we didn't have any duplicate names, we used this.
Next
Match your spreadsheet column headings with Salesforce fields
Keep Stop and Show Errors until you have resolved as many of the errors you can. Then go to Omit Erroneous Errors and click Next.
Review Fields
At this point, you can download the match results to get the IDs of all the records that are already in your system.
You can also Save Mapping, so you don't have to tediously match fields on the last step if you have data that will have the same configuration in the future.
Click Import
ALWAYS download results
You will be super sad if you forget this step. Click done.
Now go to Salesforce and inspect the records to make sure you got what you thought you were getting.
